# 8 - Prehistory: The Preflood Religious Use of Sacraments

Here follows an account of the religious beliefs of the per-deluge or flood peoples (Atlantis).
Even though "SOMA" is thought of as East Indian 'after the deluge' its history proceeds the flood.

40,000 years ago mankind gathered the bluing Psilocybin mushrooms from the tropical climate of India.  These mushrooms sprang up in and around cow pastures.  At around 2,000 BC Nordic Tribes of Aryan’s invaded the Indus Valley bring with them the “Red Bull of the Mountain.”  Soma, originally Psilocybin was now Soma—Amanita muscaria.  Indu was name given the original Soma (Psilocybin).  Later a vine crept into the mix-Argyreia nervosa of the Morning Glory Family—Symbolized by the Conch Shell.  “Ye will not find him who produced these creatures: another thing hath risen up among you.  Enwrapt in misty cloud, with lips that stammer, hymn-chanters wander and are discontented” (Moore, 1957:18).

The earliest rock art depicting psychoactive medicines is of Psilocybin mushrooms from India.  At 40,000 years old, it is clear that humanities consciousness found its major catalyst here.  The “Rock,” as Psilocybin is sometimes called was depicted by early humans in an unusually reverse of anthropomorphization.  Humans made themselves into mushroom people—in India.  The earliest written religious text, the “Rig Veda” testifies to this bemushroomed state when it records that the ‘Golden Embryo first arose over the waters covering the earth—from it was born all that breaths and blinks.’  Psilocybe cyanesis, shown above is commonly found in the Indus Valley where these petroglyphs are found.  Please pay special note to the first image which has "arrow head" mushrooms popping out of the Bee Shaman and note also the "arrow tail" above - it runs through history as you will see.

Here we see "Humankind" holding up the "Tree of Life" - dated 40,000 years old...

This precious Living Manna can heal serious addictions, abuse issues and have an impact on many physical and emotional diseases.  We observed one man who had been a functioning alcoholic and cigarette smoker for 30 years who kicked both habits after one 7 gram journey.  He is now motivated to look at the issues under the addictions and has used the sacrament to help him to access these issues that were part of the underling material in his subconscious.  The implications for this medicine are immense.  Perhaps this will assist in the arrival of the final stage in which humanity will at last live in peace with each other through the cleansing of the hearts of those walking wounded on the planet.  We know another woman who is healing from extreme childhood abuse with the help of this medicine.  Layer after layer of stored painful emotions and the poor life choices that rested upon those dark holes are being cleansed and filled in.  The implications for those who end up in jails are significant, as Psilocybin raises the Serotonin levels throughout the body.  Major studies have shown a causal link between crimes such as murder and low levels of the “King Transmitter” Serotonin (Roger D. Masters 1994 & Strassman 2001).  The majority of them are acting out from abusive childhood issues that have gone untreated.  This medicine could impact our world in a truly positive way- binging an awareness of the living Christ as well as cleansing the hearts of the wounded.
Gordon Wasson first identified the 10,000 year old petroglyphs from the Pegtymel River in Far East Siberia.  With careful inspection you can make out not only the hemispherical mushroom caps of Amanita muscaria above the females, but you can see the Psilocybe mushroom headed male in their midst—whose head cap like Psilocybin has a slight point to it (I guess the Women just wanted to be different...Shocker!).  What choice to have to make, follow the Woman’s lead and eat the red stop sign “apple” or follow God and stick to the Tree of Life.
Still to this day the Amanita muscaria mushrooms are used by various tribes in Siberia.  There is a custom among them which could easily have lead to the Hindu Caste System.  The wealthy afford themselves a large store of  these dried red and white mushrooms.  In winter when everyone else is out of these mushrooms the urine is drunk to produce the same effect as the mushrooms.  Thus the Brahmin or Priests passed their intoxicating urine to the bravest warrior who took by force his position as first in line.  This warrior then sold his urine to a merchant or trader Caste member for some goods or wealth and on down the line it passed.
The Venus of Willendorf was found at a Paleolithic village in Willendorf Austria.  It is believed to be roughly 20,000 years old.  At one time this 4” statue was painted red and as you can tell from its head it emulated the Amanita muscaria’s cap as well as color.  Once humankind became ensnared in all that the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil had to offer, we naturally turned to goddess worship as logic and reason show us that all things are born from what is female.

The Algerian Bee Shaman are not all that Terrence McKenna found in Africa.  Above are the dancing bemushroomed peoples of that region—Thought to be 6000 years old, these images show a procession of mushroom headed dancers each caries a mushroom in his hand where it can be seen.  Beneath a trail of stars which fall to the ground at the leaders feet.   Notice the shape these white points of light take once they reach the ground.  It is the geometric outline of a pyramid with the “capstone” - presumably a Psilocybin mushroom next to it.  It is said that before the great flood, two monuments were built one of stone one of clay.  The world was destroyed by flood and the stone monument—The great Pyramid of Gaza seems to be that astronomical and mathematical perfection left to the post deluge age…  Of the line of Seth it is said that he was the first to begin calling on the Name of the Lord again...

The Algerian Bee Shaman (upper left) was first commented upon by Terrence McKenna—It is thought to be 6000 years old.  Notice the stylistic similarity to this South African Bee Shaman of more recent but as yet unknown date.

Well that's all I have for this entry, stay tuned - next time we dive into history as Civilization Begins...(again).

Sincerely,

# 3 - The Earliest Mesoamerican Culture - The Olmecs

As far back as 1500 BC the Olmec Indians of Mesoamerica linked Psilocybin with the big cats (Lions in Europe & Jaguars in Mesoamerica & Tigers in Asia) This Olmec artwork shows the Jaguar with the symbol of the “bell” of Psilocybin around its neck.  Because of the association in visual similarity bells have universally been linked to heavens bell.  This is the reason why the prophet Zechariah wrote “In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses.  “HOLY TO THE LORD.”
In this early map (lower right) we see two species of Psilocybin, one with a Jaguar head—possibly the Landslide species Psilocybe caerulescens.  The other species with a bird on it—no doubt the “little bird” mushrooms talked so fondly of by Maria Sabina—a species know as Psilocybe mexicana. The Eagle, chosen perhaps because it is the mightiest of the birds just as the Jaguar was the king of the forest.  Here the Eagle holds the symbolic sea shell—the Scallop.  Universally used like the Bell to represent Psilocybin in public display without giving away its esoteric meaning.  The tell tail sign is the way the shell curves back on itself just like the actual mushrooms do.  Natural Scallop shells do not do this… Besides the ribs of a scallop look like gills which add to this shells universal choice…
-See Mylo Xyloto Album “Up With The Birds

The Olmec had two religious camps—the priests dedicated to the Way predominately taught by the Mushrooms and the priests of the Feathered Serpent or Morning Glory.  Here we see a shaman priest sitting in a spiritual serpent, the basket held in hand and the symbolic basket above represent the containers in which these Morning Glory seeds were held.  The most basic symbol for these LSD like seeds of what the Aztecs called “Green Snake Plant” is a an “x” in a square.  You could say “X” marks the spot if you were a pirate, or you could say “X & Y” if you enacting a ColdPlay comment.  In either case the archeological evidence for the existence of both Psilocybin and the hallucinogenic Morning Glories among the Olmec is testified by the “Pot Shard Record.”  You see the Olmec were no dummies they knew they could sell their religions sacraments (shocker) to their neighbors.  The pot shards were found to be either “Ware-Jaguar” pots or across the valley were “Fire Serpent” potshards.  Even though there is a long standing disagreement between the Mushroom Priesthood and the Morning Glory Priesthood, there was certainly plenty of priests who walked on both sides of the spiritual aisle—the right and the left handed path as you will see.

This Olmec clay figure head clearly belonged to the Feathered Serpent or Morning Glory camp—as the serpent tendril is set over the ajna chakra or third eye.  Interestingly, this third eye location is set in front of the Pineal Gland, that unique sensing organ that sets the circadian rhythms and is responsible for the internal signal to start or nocturnal dreams (see Melatonin).  The grin gives suspicion to the wary spectator...  Incidentally, the Pineal Gland derives its name from the pine cone which it is similar in shape too, a symbolic link that will show up again and again in various cultures.  Because Morning Glories like LSD contain a short circuit mechanism or "Credit Card Chemistry" they provide massive Serotonin up front but later depletion of 5HTP can result in massive failures of spiritual logic or heart smart reasoning - ie cutting out hearts on temples...

Incidentally, I took this shot in the British Museum - A totally amazing place once you know your symbols... Next we will examine the Teotihuacan culture and follow the tracks of these three mysterious chemistry's as they first form and then perhaps destroy the culture which built the largest pyramid in the New World...

God Bless Each & Every One Of You-

# 2 - Xochipilli - The Rosetta Stone of Psychedelics

We begin our journey with a discovery brought to light by the head of the Harvard Botany Department: Richard Evans Schultes.  It was his deciphering of the Aztec statue of Xochipilli which acted much like the Rosetta Stone of Egypt - cracking the universal symbolic language of the Sacraments.
Here you can see the two great powers, the Entheogens Psilocybin and the Morning Glory - The Right Handed and the Left Handed Path.

Let's take a look at modern history and see how the Western Cultures were reintroduced to these Sacraments after years of dusty neglect and forgetfulness.

Maria Sabina was a Mazatec “Sabia” or Wise One, she is more famous in Mexico that anyone knows!  It was by this woman that the Psilocybin Mushrooms were re-birth to the consciousness of our modern world.  In short she was the woman describe in the book of Revelation on whose head rests the twelve stars (tribes) of Israel.  Maria practiced a Godly life style using what the Bible calls the  “little things”  to heal the sick and speak prophetically with absolute accuracy.  Here is the Bible’s description of her:
12:1 A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.
12:3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. 4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron sceptre. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days. –Revelation.

Here is what Maria said about herself followed by a “rational” world view about her (leaving the “which” God/god up to the reader):
"There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."      -Maria Sabina.
“Thus does the famous Mazatec shaman, Maria Sabina, reverently describe the god given powers of the intoxicating mushrooms that she uses in her ceremony which has come from ages past.
Few plants of the gods have ever been held in greater reverence than the sacred mushrooms of Mexico. So hallowed were these fungi that the Aztecs called them Teonanacatl ("divine flesh") and used them only in the most holy of their ceremonies. Even though, as fungi, mushrooms do not blossom, the Aztecs referred to them as "flowers," and the Indians who still use them in religious rituals have endearing terms for them, such as "little flowers.”” -Anonymous.

To summarize let us look at the symbols again in light of Maria Sabina before we begin our study of the Olmec Culture of Mesoamerica:

In order for you gentle reader to get the most out of this blog we must review what is know about Psilocybin and the other—oh how shall we say angelic names of both the good and some of self conceit.  We will use the discovered and deciphered statue of Xochipilli  - again giving credit to the Harvard Botany Director Richard Evans Schultes and his is book “Plants of the Gods” for revealing the Xochipilli statues various sacraments.  The two which are universal are the Psilocybin mushrooms and the Morning Glory.  They are the two contenders, they and the Spirits behind the symbolic Lion and the Unicorn fighting for the crown...
